The things we said we would never do...

Dear Adam
Remember all those things we swore we would never do??? Well it seems we have started down a slippery slope, and it is a VERY slippery slope indeed!   I'm sure it all started by doing one tiny little insignificant thing that we said we would never do... so insignificant that I can't even remember what it was. I'm sure we brushed it off and said "no big deal, we're still cool." But oh Adam... let us count the ways that we have BROKEN our own rules (and lets try not to place any blame here...)
1. We will never let our kids sleep in our bed
2. We will never let our child yell at us
3. We will never buy our child something to get them to behave

4. We will never let our kids get food and smudgy fingerprints all over our house
5. We will never let our kids have so many toys that they over-rule our garage
6. We will never devote a room in our house to our kids "play room"
7. We will never let our kids toys clutter up our yard
8. We will never listen to stupid kid songs in the car
9. We will never let our kids dictate what we watch on TV
10. We will never let our children's nap schedule dictate our lives

11. We will never let our kids have control over what they want to eat
12. We will never let our kids deter us from traveling and having adventures
13. We will never put our children before each other
AND
14. we said we would never drive a mini-van, BUT now we are coveting one.  We are planning and saving to purchase one. One with automatic doors, DVD's, and STORAGE.

So serious...

We may have fallen off our high horse Adam, but I think we are loving every minute of it.  These little boogers of ours are bending our rules, making us uncomfortable, taking our time, money, and energy.  But their love is unconditional, our family is happy and blessed. I am so thankful for YOU, Jack-Jack and baby NonaJane. Even if you don't FEEL like you are my # 1... you will always be my man. We have each other for the long haul my dear... so for now, let's just keep bending the rules :)
